מתחילים עם פרוייקט ראשון לילדונת שלי... הבטחתי בפוסט הקודם, נכון?
אני אוהבת לרקום, אבל לרוב אני לא עושה את זה כי אני חושבת שזה לא שימושי. אין לי איפה לשים את התמונה וזה סתם עוד קישקוש על הקיר (לא אוהבת קישקושים). כדי שאוכל לרקום אני צריכה שזה יהיה פרקטי, עם מטרה ברורה, לאן ולמי זה הולך. הבעיה היא, שכדי לרקום ריקמת צלבים צריכים להשתמש בבד רקמה מיוחד עם חורים ,ואז זה מאוד מגביל.מזמן כבר שמעתי שיש כל מיני אביזרים שמאפשרים לעשות רקמת צלבים על כל בד אבל עד כה לא יצא לי להשמש בהם והנה לפניכם נסיון ראשון:

I like embroidery, but I usually don’t bother with it since it’s generally not useful. I can’t find a place for the embroidery and it ends up being just another piece cluttering the walls (and I don’t like clutter). For me to embroider something, it must be practical, with a clear purpose, knowing exactly what it will be used for. The trouble is that if one wants to use cross-stitch one must use a special cloth with holes, and this is very limiting. Quite a while ago, I’ve heard of various tricks that enable one to use cross-stitch on any cloth, but up to now I haven’t found a chance to use them- Here is my first attempt at doing so:
מרגע שנודע לי שאני בהריון התחלתי לחשוב על קניית בגדי תינוקות, ושידרוגם. נתקלתי בחליפות לבנות פשוטות, והחלטתי שאני אקנה כמה ואקשט אותן בכל מיני דרכים יחודיות. החולצה הראשונה (והיחידה כרגע) יועדה לריקמה. לקח לי כמה ערבים לבחור איזה ריקמה בא לי לעשות (אני קצת איטית ולא החלטית , כן, כן, זו הרי החלטת הרת גורל) בסוף הוחלט על לוויתן חמוד שמשך את תשומת ליבי.

From the movement I found out that I am pregnant, I’ve started thinking of buy, and upgrading, baby clothes. I found some plain white suits, and decided to buy them and decorate them in various unique ways. The first suit was set aside for embroidery. It took me a few evenings to decide on the pattern (yep, I’m a bit slow), but at last I’ve settled on a cute whale that caught my eye.
ולצורך כך הצטיידתי בכמה דברים:
1. חליפת תינוקות (אני קניתי בנקסט) - Baby Suit
2. קנווס נשטף במים - Water Soluble Cross Stitch Canvas (נקנה ברשת)
3. חוטי רקמה (ישנים מאוד, רוסיים - ירושה מסבתא) - Embroidery threads
4. חישוק רקמה - Embroidery hoop
5. מחטים רגילות עם חוד - Standard needles

מתחילים בחיתוך של הקנבס המסיס הפלסטי שהולך לעזור לי לעשות איקסים על הבד ללא חורים.. בגלל שאני מאוד קמצנית (חסכנית) צריך לחתוך ככה שהוא יתאים בדיוק לגודל הציור שרוצים לעשות וחס וחלילה לא יתבזבז לי חומר שגם ככה לא זול במיוחד :)

You start by cutting the soluble canvas, used to cross stitch on the cloth without making holes in it. Since I’m a cheapskate (“frugal”) , I cut it so that it exactly fit the size of the desired embroidery, and no material was wasted (It’s quite expensive).
מותחים את הבד שעליו רוצים לרקום על חישוק ומחברים את הקנבס המסיס בתפרים פשוטים וגדולים.

You stretch the cloth to be embroidered on the hoop and attach the soluble canvas using simple crude stitches.
מכאן מתחילים להנות מהעבודה הסזיפית של ספירת איקסים ותכים..אני השתמשתי בתרשים של andwabisabi, לוייתן מתוק עם שינויים קטנים (בהריון הראש לא עובד מספיק טוב כדי לצייר דוגמאות מקוריות). רוקמים רגיל דרך הקנבס והבד ביחד. צריך להשתדל לעשות תכים אחידים ולא רפויים מידי ותמיד לשים לב לא לתפור את הבד של הגב על הבד הקדמי עם הריקמה.

From now on, you start “enjoying” the sisyphic task of ccounting stitches. I used a diagram by andwabisabi, a cute whale, with a few small modifications (When pregnant, my mind is sharp enough to come up with original patterns).
אחרי סיום מורידים את התפירה שמחזיקה את הקנבס המסיס, גוזרים שאריות מסביב לרקמה.

You embroider normally through both cloth and canvas. One must try and make uniform stitches, not too loose, and always take care not to accidently sew the back of the shirt to the embroidered front.
ו.... עוברים לשלב הקסם: מכניסים למים חמים (40- 50 מעלות) עם קצת סבון ל 5-10 דקות עד שמעשה פלא - כל הקנבס פשוט נעלם! נשארת רק רקמה נקיה.

Once you are done, remove the stitches holding the canvas and cut off the leftovers. And now- to the magical stage: put the cloth into warm water (40-50 Celsius), with a bit of soup in it, for about 5-10 minutes. As if by magic, all the canvas will simply dissolve, leaving a clean embroidered cloth.
והנה התוצאה כמה שבועות לאחר מכן על דוגמנית הבית החדשה שלי. אני מרוצה. מקווה שגם היא מרוצה (טוב אולי היא עוד תעריך את זה בעוד כמה שנים). אבל מה שבטוח שכנראה שזה לא הניסיון האחרון שלי בשימוש בקנבס מתמוסס במים, כנראה שבקרוב תראו עוד כמה ניסיונות כאלו. לא סתם יש לי עוד 4 חליפות ותיקיית emboridery בפינטרסת שלי גדלה מיום ליום.. בא לי לרקום עוד.. חבל שיש עוד כמה דברים שבא לי במקביל :)

Here’s the result on my home model, a few weeks later. I’m pleased with it, hope she likes it as well (maybe she will appreciate it when she sees the pictures, in a few years). I definitely intend to use this soluble canvas again, you’ll probably see a few attempts soon (I didn’t buy 4 extra suits for nothing, and my embroidery folder in Pinterest keeps growing day by day).
